From Webwiz 7 to vb4 cms - seo issues

    Hi,

I am thinking of migrating my webwiz 7.0.x to the vb4 cms.

I am really worried about the SEO issues, as I don't know how to redirect my current threads to the new imported urls. Is it possible at all ?

Also, is it possible to do this migration between different web hosting companies?

    Thanks,
    Yaniv

Possible on both accounts; I have some guidance and POSSIBLY redirect rules for a web-wiz forum; I've done this conversion before. Let me go and dig around and attempt to find it.

If nothing else you could do it using url rewrites.

htaccess should be able to do that with a few lines but i'm not an htaccess expert that can do that. Can you give an example of what a url looks like on your board then maybe others can take a look at it to.

I used to have my forum in /forum and then moved it - I successfully used a url re-write to redirect all posts automatically. As long as the link structure was the same, it was simple.
