Can vBulletin be set up so that the forums are not indexed? I'm thinking of setting up a vbulletin server for a non-profit org so that members can discuss topics. But I don't want any of that content to be available to search engines or any unauthorized user.

Yes it is possible that the content is not indexed.
Making the forums private(hidden from the public) would do the trick.

Yeah that's easy. I did the same thing because people were copying my stuff and posting it up on their forum.
