  • Password protect a 2nd vbulletin install

I already have one vb4 license - before I purchase (if i do), I have a locked version of a vb4 install with htaccess with my existing license to do some testing. When this site goes live, that's when I'd like to purchase a new license - can I change the key of an existing install after I buy a new license?

Yes you can switch keys but it takes time you need to open all php files and search and replace. Under windows this can be done with a program called Editplus (30 day trail) open all php files and do search replace and then make sure you select all open files.

That sounds like a pain.. Couldn't I reinstall with the new key? Right?

Upload the new files, is the easiest way.
