  • Is vbulletin 4.0 publishing suite better that vbulletin + joomla 1.5 for my project ?

I'm trying to set up a recipes website here in Italy that will be 100% in italian.

At the very beginning I thought the main website could have been made with joomla plus some extensions and a personalized recipe-related template, the whole Joomla cms could have been then connected to vbulletin with a good bridge (jfusion maybe).

I have now noticed that vBulletin 4.0 publishing suite will have an integrated cms, so I'm sort of unshure if it's better for me to just use this new suite instead of the older project.

My questions are; will I be able to have the integrated vbulletin cms as the main homepage and will it be possible for me to keep the forum at this address "" ?
Are there any extensions and templates available for this cms that can help me build a recipe website ?

I can obviously understand that Joomla is a much more complex and experienced cms so I am not asking wich one is better, but I'm only afraid that I might not have a good quality result since the main website will be the cms and the forum is only an extra function.

I would really appreciate your advice and suggestions.

    Thank you for your support.

By most accounts the bridges are a pain in the a$$. Not used one myself, except briefly with SMF and Drupal.

While the CMS will not touch Drupal, WP or Joomla for a long time if ever, it may be good for a recipe site. The category/article/content system might work well.

Also the ability to promote things people do in the forum to the CMS might be very useful.

The CMS is not Joomla, but I think for what you want to do it might work well. It will also be improving exponentially over the next year I suspect.

I don't know about the Italian.
    Hmmm. Cheese.
