One sentence get's displayed and it goes to Read More, how can I extend this?

Hey guys, I currently am having problems with the front page. I post a new article and it only shows one sentence and then pops up with the read more. I would like to extend it to at least a paragraph, how do I go about customizing it? Or at least have it like the VB front page? Thanks in advance.

Use the bottom-right icon in the article editor, the one with a red line. If you mouse over it, it says "Insert Preview Break".
