Ads/Own URL?

Hello, Everyone!

I have never had or set up my own forums - but I would like too.

I am looking to be able to set up a forum that would most likely have a ton of features. I'm thinking vBulletin is the one for me, but I'd like to make sure.

Can you have ads on them, for marketing and the such? Basically off to the side somewhere.
If you can, how hard is that to set up?

Also, I assume I can use my own domain name, without having what many of the free forums force you to have - their name as part of it.

All of the screen shots at the top show "vBulletin". When setting up using this software, is it possible to have no links to vBulletin? I was hoping to have a very unique and personalized forum.

Hey there,

Yes, you can do all of the above, however, unless you buy a branding free license (extra cost) you must have the simple footer referencing vBulletin as the creator of the site software.

Ad's are very easy to setup and maintain, domain names are very very easy to do (i have a couple) and you can personalize it pretty much any way that you want. There's heaps of features (check http://www.vbulletin.org for some of the hacks and things), and the limits... well, only limited by your imagination and coding skill really.

I think I will buy one tomorrow and start working on a grand forum.

I don't know coding, so I may stop back here a bit often to try getting help where it's needed.
