    VBulletin 4.0 SEO vs. VBSEO

It took me many long years to get my Alexa rating down to 39,000 and my Google rankings are phenomenal... I am using VBSEO to achive this...

my question is, will the url structure change at all if i upgrade from VB 3.81 with VBSEO to VB 4.0 with no VBSEO?

This is critical for me, thank you.

Alexa ranking is pointless, but we can argue that another time.

Yes more than likely you're URL structure will change dramatically if you don't retain vBSEO with your upgrade.

Unless a URL converter is made available that will replace your vBSEO and make the vB4 ones match them identically, then and only then will you not lose any SE rankings.

thank you for your feedback, now can someone from VBulletin please answer this question?

FROM WHAT I UNDERSTAND, YOU CANNOT USE THE vbseo WITH vb 4.0, OTHERWISE THE TWO WILL HAVE A CONFLICT.

      sorry for caps.

not sure where you heard that, but the vbseo team has confirmed that vbseo and vbulletin 4.0 will work just fine
Might want to take a look at this chart to compare vbseo with what you'll get with vBulletin 4.0
vBSEO, Search Engine Optimization, URL Rewrite Settings, Custom Rewrite Rules, Relevant Replacements, Linkbacks, Sitemap Generator, Link Building, SERPs

Considering neither product is released yet, you're qute right in saying you can't run them together.

Once vB4 is GOLD, vBSEO 3.5 will be released, with full 4.0 compatibility (as can be seen in the link posted by Mr Loco above.)

vbseo will be 100% compatible with vb4 Gold. If you are already using vbseo then I would keep it and not get rid of it.

Alexa estimates and many other estimates are appropriate for a very large site. Once you get below that plateau, even if you have a large amount of traffic, you'll find that the results are totally wrong. The same is true for Compete! and similar alleged measurement techniques. I know from personal experience with a number of sites that they don't come close to delivering an accurate traffic estimate. They have no access to anyone's server logs and random sampling may be unfairly skewed, depending on who signs up for one of their Web toolbars, to use one of the measurement methods. After all, it's not as if those who use those toolbars were selected from a scientifically selected random sampling, in the fashion of a major polling organization.

              Peace,
              Gene
