[ASK]The Definite Release Time of vBulletin 4.0

Please give us the announcement about the exact time for releasing the vBulletin 4.0. Maybe next week, month or year? it doesn't matter, but please give us the exact time will it be release. So there will no confusion among us.

I think for people already have a community that using vBulletin will wait for that time, Because they need to tell their community when will it be a an upgrade for their community "place" and usually after an upgrade they will have an observation time. So it will take a time to make it stable or settle. That is the time that we need to tell to our community.

I hope vBulletin team can understand this. Thank you.

First, they won't. Second, they can't.

It's *expected* that they will release the Beta sometime this week or next week. However, there are always bugs and things like that that will creep up and can delay expectations.

    Take a chill pill.

There has never been an exact time for any release build
why do you expect one now
..it will be here when it gets here..

Hm... I think if we want do something we must have a target or a goal that have its own time. If can't it will be just a waist of time. No offence

There isn't something wrong for creating a "goal time". Like i said, it doesn't matter if it will take a year or more, but there must be a time. I'm not forcing for vBulletin to release the vBulletin 4.0 (not beta version) as soon as possible, but just give us an estimate time, so we can make a plan for our community or forum.

What happens if they don't meet the release time they've told us? Simple - the same kind of whining that happens all the time.

Just tell your community the same thing - it'll be ready when it's ready.

Just because you don't have a release date doesn't mean you can't plan. Beta is apparently out sometime by the end of this month (see the Blog) so you can start documenting things you would need to re-do such as template edits (in preparation for the new template system) or deciding what modifications you have installed that you wont need with vB4. My site knows that vB4 is coming soon but they also know that it wont be installed on release day (and probably not for at least a month after that by the time I've set it up how I like it).
When in doubt, give it a clout :D

well, nothing can be made perfectly errors and bugs cant be fixed totally and will remain. compatibility and update issues can be fixed in a planned time frame so vBulletin should provide a time frame. but if there are some other Business related issues in some minds than don't blame compatibility, error and bugs as issue and as reason of delay.
