    Question about Leased License

    Hello
I have an Active Leased License which expires on July of the next year, and I'm running vB 3.8.
    My questions:
    - When vB 4.0 is released, can I get an upgrade for free?
    - After my license expires, how does it cost to renew it?

Please I need more information about leased-license-users.

    Thanks

You will receive any releases of vBulletin up until your license expires. After this period, you must either upgrade to one of the new licenses, or remove vBulletin from your server. The prices after the pre-release sale are $175 for Forum Classic and $250 for the Publishing Suite. These "new" licenses are valid for the entirety of the vBulletin 4 series.

Alternatively, you can upgrade to the Publishing Suite now, during the pre-release sale, for $130.

My lease expires in feb2010, if i buy publishing suite now, will i need to again renew my leased license in feb?
I am assuming I have to upgrade and pay $130 dollars now, and I own the licence for life time and need not worry about the leased license that expires in feb, correct me if i am wrong

I guess you pay $130 to own it, leased license is no longer available, but I'm not sure how much do you have to pay every year.
        I hope someone can help.

When you upgrade to a new license (e.g. Publishing Suite for $130), you gain access to the entire vBulletin 4 series. If an update is released for any 4.x release, you will get it. There is no yearly fee. When vBulletin 5 is released, there will be a fee to upgrade to it. However, you do not have to pay this fee to upgrade to vBulletin 5 - you can continue to run vBulletin 4 for as long as you like.

This is consistent with other software vendors' licensing schemes in place today.
