    [Pre-Sale Question] vBulletin Publishing Suite

    Hello

I'm looking into buying vBulletin publishing suite, and I was just wondering. What will be the fee after the year of free updates on the Owned Licence? how much will it cost to renew the updates?

    cheers,

    Kevin

Hello, this renewal system is no longer effective in the 4.x licensing scheme.

Once you but vB 4, you get updates for free for the whole of its life (~18) months.

No, it lasts forever. The vB 4 license will allow for upgrades as long as vB 4 goes, i.e. for 4.1, 4.2 and so on. If vB5 is released you will have to pay another fee which will allow for updates for the lifespan of vB 5. The 18 months are an educated guess on how long vB4 will last until vB5 comes out.

How much was it this time round to upgrade your 3.X owned Licence to a 4.X owned licence?

The expected time for vB 5 to come out is between 18-24 months.

I logged into the AdminCP, and the only discount I can see posted on there is the Discount if your licence has expired, I'm wondering how much it would cost if you have an Owned 3.X licence, and want to upgrade to Owned 4.X Licence

I’m sure this has been already answered someplace so please forgive if it has.
I have an owned license but my license update expired just this past 10/22/09 so as I see it I can still get the pre-sale price. I was going to renew it but then came all of this confusion as to vB4. When that happened I decided not to renew it but seeing that I still am using 3.7.2 I’ve decided that I might wish to update to 3.8.4 as at this time and point I’m not at all sure I wish to use vB 4.0.

My question/confusion comes as to the price of the vB 4.0 suite. It states that the pre-sale price would be $190.00 however on the vB purchase page it says $130.00! Which is it? I can only assume in seeing that it has my current info/status on the vB purchase page that it would indeed be $130.00?

I believe that since your license is expired it would be 190.00

For licenses that expired in the last 12 months, we are offering an extra $45 discount for advance ordering, in addition to the publicly available pre-sale savings. This means the all new vB 4.0 Publishing Suite will cost you only $190, a total savings of $95.

Then why does it say $130.00?

Does the cart determine your license status after you've added to the cart?
