You will stop receiving updates in March.

Best upgrade path is to take advantage of the $130 Suite upgrade that they are currently offering, as it includes all updates up to 5.0.

As per FAQ With an owned and owned license, I get access to Forum 4.0. Once my current license expires, what happens? yes you'll get 4.0 forum free up to may 2010 then need to pay for 4.x upgrades after may 2010. The best deal is upgrading to the suite during pre-sale period though.

So if I will upgrade to the Suite by 130$,
what will be my expiration date? may 2011?

If I purchase the suite, will I receive EVERY update for the 4.0 series even if my license is expired?
If I purchase the suite, How many will it cost to upgrade it later? 40$/60$ or more?
If I won't upgrade, will I receive UPDATES for vb4.0 until May 2010?
If I won't upgrade, and we will be in May 2010 and my license is expired, how many will I have to pay in order to upgrade my license to vb4.0 FORUM CLASSIC?

The FAQs are really very clear.

If you purchase Suite for $130, then you own all versions of vB4 forever. vb5, is another $250.

No, it will never expire, but you will ONLY be able to download v3 and v4, not v5 when it's released.

Your license will never expire, you can download every since 4.x update.

It will cost $250 to upgrade to the v5 suite when it's released, but you dont have to, you can continue to use v4 forever. There has been talk of another presale, but do not expect it to be as good as the $130 offer.

You will get updates for 4.x until they stop making them - your license will NOT expire.

can you buy just the forum, or do you need to buy the whole suite?

If so how much? (to renew during the promo window)

              Thanks!

The forums are not on promotion. To upgrade to the forums only, is $175.

It's unwise to mention any pricetag for vB 5.0, since nobody (not even Jelsoft) knows the price of that software. The whole vB 5.0 is only an idea as of now.

The pricing was added to the FAQ by a vB team member, and then removed shortly after, but many people still saw it

Also Jelsoft have no idea, as they don't own vBulletin anymore. Internet Brands are the badboys.

The best advice I can give anybody, with my years of experience, is this:

Decide whether to buy vB4 based on the pricing as announced.

Do not waste time chasing the rainbows that are vB5. It's an unknown quantity at this stage.
