I have an owned license for a vBulletin 3.8.4 forum. This forum has had many custom modifications made over the years that I consider vital and I do not implement upgrades until I'm sure all the modifications work. I would like to upgrade this forum to version 4 and most likely will, but am still considering the possibility that I won't be able to get it to function the way I want. I would prefer to stay on 3.8.4 indefinitely if I can't get all the modifications to work properly on the newest version.
My question is, if I end up staying on 3.8.4, what can I do with the vBulletin 4 suite license if I purchase it now to take advantage of the discount? It makes me nervous being required to pay now to get this discount when I can't see any demos, only 6 screenshots, don't know what changes have been made to the code, and have no idea if the product I'm going to get will even be functional for me. It doesn't seem fair to force me to make this commitment to upgrading now when I don't know if it will just end up breaking the forum I've invested so much time customizing to suit my community's needs.
If I can transfer this license to a different forum and keep my 3.8.4 forum going with no further upgrades after it expires I might be satisfied, or at the very least get a refund, but right now I'm very concerned that I might just be throwing $130 away for something I won't be able to use at all.
