    Major Version Frequency?

First of all, I very much plan to upgrade to the Suite for $130, but before I do, I have just one simple question.

I have an owned license, so if I purchase the upgrade for $130, can you give me a rough "ball park figure" on how long my 4.0 Suite license will last before I must upgrade to the next major version? How much time between versions? What will be the frequency of upgrades between versions?

I know it is impossible to predict exactly when the next version will come out, but I need a rough idea so I can predict my cost share in this venture. I know you must have developed an equation for the new pricing scheme, so what are your plans for new releases? Every three years? Two tears? Five years? Can you please elaborate?

This is a legitimate question, so I pray that you will give me an honest answer.

Thanks in advance for your help!

For all those reading this, I am trying to get my question answered, so please do not rant in this post. I truly need an answer to this question.

Ray has said previously that they were looking at 12 - 16 months (or was it 12-18 months) for each major version.

I would prefer an official response from the vb team on these questions only. Thank you Is there any way to extend the discount period for those of us with multiple licenses? The extremely short time frame on the ‘pre-sale’ offer doesn’t give us enough time to raise the funds. Total cost of ownership is important when

vB5 is far too far in the future to state exactly what it's pricing will be. However, the plan is to continue the same structure as vB4, meaning that there likely will be a discount for vB4 owners who wish to upgrade to vB5.

Thanks for your input, but I really would like someone in an official capacity to confirm this information for me. I am at a juncture where I have several options, and an answer to this question would help me make a better informed decision on my next purchase.

Could your question be worded: What is an educated guess as to when the End of Life for the 4.x series might be?

        I've been asking that question.

I'm in the same predicament, and would also like an answer.

        Please.

Yes, but I have not seen his "typed" words stating so.
