    Due to an overwhelming response

Due to an overwhelming response and interest in the pre-sale event for vBulletin 4.0 Publishing Suite, we've decided to extend an offer to those customers with inactive licenses.

For licenses that expired in the last 12 months, we are offering an extra $45 discount for advance ordering, in addition to the publicly available pre-sale savings of $50. This means the all new vB 4.0 Publishing Suite will cost you only $190, a total savings of $95.

For licenses that expired more than 12 month ago, we are offering an extra $25 discount for advance ordering, in addition to the publicly available pre-sale savings of $50. This means the all new vB 4.0 Publishing Suite will cost you only $210, a total savings of $75.

These limited time offers expire on October 30, 2009. Beginning on October 31, the price will be $285.

You will be able to take advantage of this offer in the next couple of days - we are currently working to make it an option in your shopping cart. We will notify you once this offer is live on the website.
I guess the comments in this forums is what they consider to be an overwhelming response. They didn't say overwhelming in which way...

Typical IB communication as I've began to understood after all that has happened this year. I really think excuses are due.
How much do you love XenForo?

I don't want the god damn Publishing Suite! I want the Forum License!

Why not discount both!? (in effect, it would be an "either or" scenario per customer)

because they want you to buy the suite, or decide not to and have to pay a lot more than normal for the forum later, what they are forgetting is people just won't upgrade
Unlike most, I don't think I'm always right, if I'm wrong, CORRECT me.... providing you have some evidence

Next year you will even have to say bye bye to Forum Classic.

of course they will upgrade - either to the full suite at $250 or the forum only for $175.

They will also gladly fork out $80 for support when they need it.

A few people will resist, but they will be in the minority by some way.

Im in the same boat as you, my license expired this summer, and I didnt have any point to renew it until my next project was under way which happens to be this month. I just came here last night to upgrade and found this crap. If they dont offer some kind of discount to people who just want to the forum I will be moving to another forum system. Im very displeased that my owned license is pretty much worthless now unless I want the suite (which I dont), and then my 160$ owned license is only good for a limited time discount.
