vB4: Static Content & Custom Fields

Great news that the vB CMS is almost ready (when, again?), and I will happily plunk down $130 if it is as shiny and awesome as it is described to be. I need someone to do for CMSes what vB did for forum software. I've tried OpenCMS, Drupal, Joomla/Mambo, and just about everything else under the open-source sun, and they just can't accommodate my site.

So here's my big question about vB 4.0 Suite: How is the CMS set up to handle static sections of static content?

Most CMSes seem to be driven by the idea that all Web sites are essentially blogs. You post something, it shows up as the newest item on the home page, then drops down into the archive. My site has that (its the News section), but it also has many, muli-layered sections of static content (episode guides, book lists, products/store, searchable encyclopedia, etc.).

Is there a system in vB 4.0 to manage a hierarchy of static (timeless) content sections and pages?

Finally, I'm stunned that many CMSes on the market today don't have custom fields on the page editor. Does vb 4.0? I need the ability to create several fields on a content item (e.g. "Air Date", "Rating", "Written By", "Directed By") and then sort and display content items in that category according to those custom fields.

So, for example, if I have a box showing the episode that is airing today on the home page, it can pull those custom fields to show the data on a page other than that episode's main content page.

Can vB 4.0 do this? If so, sign me up.

    Thanks!
