Question regarding 4.0 Suite CMS and Ads

First, there has been a lot of fallout for releasing the email and pricing promotion without a demo or screen shots.

I commend VB for quickly getting the screen shots out. Hopefully the other issues will fall in line as well.

I will say I think the screen shots look great.

Now to the question - The format on the homepage looks nice but I don't see any cms for ads. Did I miss it? Lot's of homepages sell banner ads and I'm not sure how VB Suite addresses this.

What is the plan or solution?

I'm bumping this because of all the threads outraged about 4.0 pricing. While that's a valid issue, I'm not sure why everyone needs to start another thread about it.

      Does anyone from Jelsoft know?
Do any of you fellow users know?

While I don't know for a fact but, it looks like you will be able to add them in on the sides (where you see latest blogs, etc...) and I am sure you will be able to add them anywhere via coding...

I think you're correct regarding adding them with CSS. But I want to know if there is any CMS functionality for ads so you can put them in rotation, etc. w/o having to use some outside tool or service.

Can't I get an answer to a non pricing issue?

              Here's a guess:

If the CMS is anything like other CMS products, you'll be able to customize your modules and add in extra stuff to run your advertising.

Now, is it built in? I don't think so. They only mention Google Adsense integration on the feature list of now. That doesn't mean they'll ninja in something else before release.

For reality sake, I don't think you'll see a ad management system other than Google Adsense. I think we'll still have to go with a 3rd party tool to accomplish this task, but it may be easier with the new tools in the CMS. No idea otherwise...
              To be updated...

                Thanks ENF for your reply....

I was hoping for an official response and maybe put an idea in their ear that it would be a supper great feature.

Can we address how ads are a consideration in 4.0?

                  Official response?

                    If you have access to the members area then check this link out;

Additionally, after reading as much as there is available to read on the new widgets for vB4 - I'm pretty damn sure you will be able to post the adsense code straight into a simple BBCode or HTML blank widget.

Thanks, Adsense is a good start but I want to manage my own ads and not use google.

You can still use this, and I believe that there is an updated system in vB 4 so that you can specify your own code in specific areas?

In that case paste any code (including plain old linked images) into a blank widget.

Check out the video in Freddie's blog, you'll notice the 'Adsense' widget, it can be placed wherever you see fit... http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/blog.php?b=2345

Hope this clears up your question.
