I just want to upgrade to suite as painless as posible

Now please explain to me how much it is going to cost, As I just purchased 3.84 including the Blog and the projects in August as an Owned lifetime licence,

I want it installed as soon as possible as my 2 month old forum is growing rapidly and I have spent a ton of money promoting it and gaining members. I don't have time or funds to screw around , I expect Jelsoft to correct any problems and alter the agreement for the software to continue to be the cadillac of forums. and Im sure you will do the right thing on the fair pricing as I just shelled out 180.00 in august, I think a fair price would be the 55.00 difference. but, Im willing to let you shove it a little deeper if you lube it with a free install or something.

Just tell me when I can plan on transferring my forum and getting back to building my community on a stable foundation.

Your current forum isn't going to have the foundation pulled out from under it... you can use the current version (3.8.4) as long as you'd like. Since you are brand new, you can just ride out the storm and let 4.0 get settled before upgrading.

They may change their stance among the people that purchased project tools and the blog since that seem to be a major point of contention.

If you upgrade later, I guess you'll do the suite, it will cost you $235 when you do. Unless, they change their pricing map.

If you've got the funds, I'd go ahead and take the sale price of $130 for the VB4. You can upgrade whenever you want after it's released in Gold format....

We're building a new, 3rd site and I speficially am waiting for 4.0 to build with. I feel your pain with a new site as I was almost in that same boat! I now have to pay the $235 for the new site when 4.0 gets stamped in Gold.

I am ready to take that, I want to get the new one installed and move forward, we have members that are anxious and enthusiastic about attending all our local events and promoting the site, we have several charities we are making at home including a state museum.

I need something simple and professional with a guarantee of compatibility. and I want it now before everyone gets too comfortable with the 3.84 blog combo, our 130 veteran members could become 500 noobs any time and I need my veterans familiar with the new stuff

Well then, take the dive for the $130 and be ready while saving money. You'll be able to test it when the beta comes out, in preparation for moving it to your main site.

In all of the years of using VB as a site owner and regular user on other boards, I can't imagine 4.0 being a horrible experience. The headaches will come in the form of styles and customization, we already know that... Any of the regulars should think back to the days of 2.x and early 3.0.

Obviously this approach was ineffective, and some staff prefer the legal aproach.
