help to decide if vbulletin is what I need.

Hello, I am trying to create a model portfolio website where I can host a selection of images for each model the option to have subscriptions and a forum wonder if was possible to create it in vbulletin and with other adds on.
I do not know if I can post links to show what I really want to do, so if possible I'll post it.

There are many questions but I'll start with the above the I'll ask more.

    Thanks
    Kelv

Its certianally possible. Its just a matter of how much work it would be.

Vbulletin supports subscriptions, which I've found to be quite flexable. Users can also have galleries for photos + pictures, there are also custom profile fields which you can create in the admin cp. So it may be possible to achieve what you suggested with very little modification. However for a more detailed analisis more detail is required. . .
    Some of my Mods:
Advanced IP Ban Manager (vb3.6+ version) - Fine grained control over blocking trouble makers.
Advanced IP Ban Manager (vb4 version) - Fine grained control over blocking trouble makers.
Use Original thread for Comments - Uses the original thread for comments for any forum threads promoted to CMS articles.
Custom Friendly Urls - Allows customisation of forum urls from the admin CP.

thanks carnage- If I could post a link of a 3D Graphics website that runs on vbulletin it will make more sense or even a link to a actual modelling website.

      Thanks again

Just provide links, no reason to censor them.

from "what you like", only the "Forum" link is vBulletin... everything else is third party softwares, not even linked/bridged together...

so do not expect to see your site look like this once you buy vB...there is a lot of manpower spent on that site... costly.
oh no, i'm not going with Xenforo... come on, i'm better than that... i stick with Wordpress... rofl

Great examples. All is impossible to achieve with the stock vBulletin 3.8.x, unfortunately. We (dedicated customers) have been pleading for a CMS for 7 years and finally it will arrive now. It is expected to be released at the end of 2009 (maybe begin 2010, you never know), so when that comes out we finally, finally, finally have the ability to create an entrance page like you want: http://www.purestorm.com/

Look here to see how the new vBulletin product will look. More or less the same as your example really when it comes to the menu and stuff. Hopefully the new CMS will allow us to show the latest post and members in a visually attracting way, just like in your example.

So, if I was you, I should wait a few months to see if vB 4.0 can (finally) deliver.
How much do you love XenForo?

I very much doubt anything else than the forum in that site is vbulletin. it could be PHPFox with vbulletin integration.
                      I buy 420 forums

They're third party addons we do not provide support for. More information could be found at the authors websites, or vBulletin.org.
