  • question re database size

thinking of purchasing vbulletin and am thinking of choosing go daddy as the host, but one thing i noticed is that there datbase sizes are limited to 200mb each unlimited..

will this suffice? how long before a datbase of 200 mb will fill up....and what am i meant to do once it does fill up?

    tks in advance

vBulletin requires 5.5 Mb of database on installation... each 100 messages take 1Mb, if you have only messages... if you host your attachments and avatars in the database, you have to calculate that too...

btw, GoDaddy itself is not supporting installations of vBulletin, as they can not guaranty the server your on will support vB 3.8. ... go to webhost that are not announcing everything free for 5$... go with a monthly fee of 10$ and higher and check all the gadgets offered... the more the badder.

http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=11 is the forum for hosting solutions
oh no, i'm not going with Xenforo... come on, i'm better than that... i stick with Wordpress... rofl

A database limit of 200MB for any community isnt good news at all - especially if you are going to be hosting images, attachments, file's on posts etc. Then its REALLY bad news

Depending on the nature of your website (Whether you target to be a small community or a large one) is something you should closely look at in terms of bandwith and storage space.
        Jut a random internet person.
