  • Forum setting up.

Hi guys, I recently purchased vbulletin owned for $180.
    I bought a domain at godaddy.com
I setup the put the domain in the members area to confirm that it was my url.

Now, how long does it take till my forum is set up with the url I bought?

By the way, Do I need to buy hosting for my forum?

    Thanks!

Also, Do I need to know PHP and SQL to run my forum? Or is that only for if you want to make your own layouts? I just want to run my forum.

Domain propagation takes about 48 hours generally... Sometimes less, sometimes a bit more...

    Enjoy your script...

No,you don't need to know them.

vB5 is unequivocally the best forum software, but not yet...

HTML is the code you are needing to learn, but most forum owners do not need to know this... You can get free styles within this forum or vBulletin.org...

This is more with coding or creating a style with interactve templates that can store database info.
W3Schools offers free online tutorials, references and exercises in all the major languages of the web. Covering popular subjects like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Python, SQL, Java, and many, many more.

It will take 48 hours to update DNS servers around the world with your domain name, however, it will take 5 minutes to login to the members area, download your vBulletin license files, upload them, and click through the install script.

And you only need to know PHP or MySQL if you want to edit vBulletin or make mods, etc. (However, I'm an experienced PHP and MySQL coder, and vB code is still pretty confusing...... )
