vBulletin uses MySQL. Though version 3.7.3 is quite old and seems to have security flaws. If you're going to be buying a license (Which based on your previous questions I assume you haven't yet) I recommend using 3.8.1 instead.

At the very least run 3.7.5 because it fixes several flaws in 3.7.3.
