  • Question...

I'm interested in purchasing a VBulletin forum, but I don't have a website to put it on. Will I have to make a website to put the forum on, or can I make the actual forum my website?

You need a website. vBulletin requires a web server that includes PHP (minimum version 4.3.3) and MySQL (minimum 4.0.16) installed. As long as you have a host or server that meets these requirements you will be able to install and run our software.

Is there anyway I could make a site for free that will run your software?

Well I don't really need a website I just need someplace to host the forums...what is the least expensive way you would recommend going about this?

A website and someone to host the forums are the same thing. Also vB is not free. Sorry if that wasn't clear in my previous response.

I know that VB isn't free, I was just asking how to make the actual site itself for free. I just need somewhere inexpensive to host the forums, that is all.

I recommend relying on a Google search for that.

Free might become too expensive on the long run.

vB5 is unequivocally the best forum software, but not yet...

you could use a free host. However, most free hosts dont have the required stuff, and dont let you use domain names.
