So who is doing the import ?

With optimization I do about 1 million posts in 20-25 mins from IPB2 here.

I did a 700,000 post board on monday in 16 mins.

The documentation outlines steps that can significantly speed up a large import such as this.

I rarely switch mine off. Your friend should probably raise a priority request with the staff.

I transferred from phpbb with ease but I didn't have that many posts.

1.4 million posts is a LOT of posts to convert. It's going to take time.

And computers don't jack up the electric bill THAT bad. I leave mine running 24/7, rebooting when necessary, and my electric bill is barely affected.

My friend just tried converting an IPB 2.3.6 board to VB test board with 1.4million plus posts and more than 8 hours have passed and Impex is still not finished with the posts.

Is there a way that he can do the conversion of the posts via SSH and use the screen command so he can at least turn off my computer and save himself from the rising electricity bill?
