Since when was the price $60?

    It was always $30 IIRC?

It is the first price increase since 8 years, I am sorry if this is an inconvenience to you. We offer a discount of $20 to those who renew within their expiry period, or the first 2 months after.

I know the update happened a few months ago but if I'd have actually known I would have been fine with it but no email was sent out notifying me and I had no reason to think prices would change.

It was bundled together in the vBulletin 3.7.0 Email.

vBulletin did everything to inform the customer short of sending a singing telegram to your door.

There was an announcement months before the increase along with an email alerting customers. It's not their fault if you did not read either.

I got the e-mail as well. While I was disappointed to see it increase, I still agree it's well worth the money. It's hands-down the best forum software I've ever used. So sorry if you didn't get it, but it definitely went out.

Plus, if you have addons linked to your license, they will be renewed too, at no cost. They're now linked to the parent license expiry date.

                        People actually read them?

                          That's not what matters.

What matters is that it was included in the e-mail.
                          Regards,

A notice ahead of time, and in a release email. And before paying, we display the prices.

Those who don't, post these threads .

On a serious note, do check emails from vbulletin at regular interval because they contain important announcement regarding bug releases or upcoming versions etc. apart from that I haven't yet received any other spam/unwanted messages from vbulletin, reason enough for me to check them when they arrive once in a while.
