    owned licensed question

    just wanna ask if a owned licensed is a lifetime or what? coz my friend has one owned licensed and he said that its a lifetime and i also read it somewhere here in this forum... but when i received the email after buying the owned licensed it says "(Owned License); expires: Aug 19th '09" so which is which?

    Your download access to newer versions of vBulletin runs out on aug 19th 09. Your right to run the software does not.

      so after august 19, 09 i cannot update my vb unless i pay right? so its really a lifetime and 1 year update? am i correct?

        Yes sir, you are correct.
        Then it's $40/yr ($60 if it's 60 days after your license expired) after the first year for additional year of upgrades.

          also, most security patches (sometimes, a simple patch is not possible and than you need to renew your license) are freely available after your owned license expires (as long as your version is supported). So let's say you have vbulletin 3.7.2 your license expires than you still have access to the security patches (currently PL1 and PL2).
