    Custom authentication hooks?

    Hi-

My company's thinking of purchasing vbulletin for use in our 'support' area. In order to access the support area, our users have to authenticate using a username/password we have stored in a MySQL database. Currently the support area consists of more than just a forum.

My question is, does vB have hooks that would allow me to use the username/information from our current database?

I want to avoid having to force the users to remember two username/passwords, one for our support area and then once logged in there, once for vB.

    Is this possible?

    Thanks!

Integrating vBulletin with a non-vB member system would require a rather extensive modification of the code. Of course, we cannot provide official support for code modifications. What most people do is modify their current system to use the vB member system.

Either way the place for help with this would be over at the mod site: http://www.vbulletin.org

Once you register you can post in the Pre-Sales forum there.

I've seen it before, do you mean like tibiacity.org? I.e.; you login on website and it's the same information for the forum?

I believe it's possible, not sure how though.
