  • PunBB to vBulletin

    We Currently have a Free Forumotion Forum Running on PunBB and We think We'd like to Transfer to vBulletin.

    We;re wondering if thats Possible... and if so, Could we Transfer the Database of the Site so we don't Loose Members/Posts?

    (If PunBB is not Capabable, we can switch back to phpBB3 Which I read in another thread can be converted)

    Thanks for Your Help

    Converting from PunBB to vBulletin is possible with Impex (included with your vBulletin license).

    Here is what will transfer:

    PunBB
    Tier = 2
    Source version support in ImpEx = 1.2.10

        But what if Forumotion does not provide database copies? Is it still possible?

          Here are things which cannot be done on Forumotions:

          - get a sql backup of the forum database to export it. You can't import a non-forumotion board either.
          It would be better to cut your loss now depending on the size of the forum prior to your forum growing and you loose even more data.

                That is what their terms of service says on their FAQ page.

                  Alright...thanks.

                  And there would be no other way to change the forum over?

                    I do not think there is a way without the database containing your old data. You can see if maybe offering them some money may change their view.

                    widgetinstance 262 (Related Topics) skipped due to lack of content & hide_module_if_empty option.
