Are licenses tied to specific domains?

    Hello,
I am thinking about buying vBulletin but I have a couple of questions regarding the license:

-If I install vBulletin in one domain and then decide I want to move it to another domain, can I just delete the first install and perform a new install on my new domain with the same license? Is the license tied in any way to a particular domain?

-If I buy an owned license is it transferable? For example, if I wanted to sell my site can I just sell the site with the license included?

    Thanks,
    Rafael

    1. You can move your license to another domain as long as you are only running one copy at a time.

    2. Because of a large amount of fraud relating to license transfers, we have a policy regarding the transfer of vBulletin licenses. We regret if this causes a problem, but this is necessary to protect not only ourselves, but the purchasers of licenses who are victims of these scams.

    The policy states:

Jelsoft may, in its discretion, allow you to transfer your license to another party, providing the license:
    - has not already been transferred in the previous 12 months; and
    - was purchased more than 3 months in the past.
    -is an active owned license
*Please note, leased licenses are not eligible for transfer

You can read this policy under the license agreement here:

Awesome, just what I needed to make my decision.
I´ll be buying now. Thanks for the quick response Steve.

I have a question on this subject so I will borrow your thread a bit

Can I move my vBulletin installation to another folder without changing the license? Lets say I want to change directory from "mydomain.com/forum" to only "mydomain.com"?

Yes so long as only one copy is active at a time.

You will need to edit your license details to reflect the current URL of the forum installation.
