    3.6 to 3.7

    Hi,
I have an owned license for 3.6.10 ... I'd like to upgrade to 3.7. Currently, my Status/Type of my license is:
    Inactive - Expired
    vBulletin (Owned License)

If I pay the $30 to renew and make this active, will downloads to 3.7 become available in the Members' Area, or do I only get the most recent builds of 3.6?

I need to upgrade to 3.7 and just need the best route to do so ... hoping the $30 renewal will get me not only access to support/Members' area for another year, but also the download to 3.7.

    Thanks
    Fred

Yes, renewing your download access grants you access to the current unstable release and any further release for another year.

Access to support (here on the forums and as support-tickets) and the Members' area itself has always been free.

      Fusion,
"current unstable release" .. is that a typo, or "tongue in cheek",

No, that's the coined term of any Beta and RC-releases. Likewise, 3.6.10 is the current stable release.

When you renew your download access you will only see one unstable release, even though there has been several, whereas you'll be able to download all stable releases.

          Hey Fusion,
Thanks for the clarification - I didn't realize 3.7 was unstable, and thought it was a new generation, or possibly even a separate license - just wanted to get the bookmarking feature (stumbleupon, digg, etc)

3.7.0 is a new generation yes, but it is also planned to be the last release in the vBulletin 3 series. It scheduled to be released as Gold (stable) next week. Initially it was slated for this week but was pushed back due to the discovery of a security issue, which incidentally also afflicted the 3.6.x series prompting the simultaneous release of 3.6.10.

The next release after 3.7.0 is planned to be vBulletin 4.0, which will include a major re-write of the code.

Of course all of this is subject to change at a moment's notice, and we may very well see a 3.7.1 if other security- or bug-issues warrant a release.
