  • can I make a portal using Vbulletin

    Hello......
I have a forum currently running on phpbb.Forum is installed on main dictionary..say in abc.com

Now I want to convert it to vbulletin. And I want following changes:
    1) First page should be portal..like abc.com should be portal.
    2) abc.com/forum or forums.abc.com should be forum.

Is it possible to convert like this.I dont want to loose any data of my old forum.

    Thanks in advance

We do not provide a portal for vB at this time. There are several add-ons that can do this, but they are third-party add-ons that we do not provide or support. You can check the Premium odifications forum at www.vbulletin.org for information about these.

Yes; vBulletin is provided with free and simple software which is capable of converting most popular bulletin boards available, if you already have one installed; it doesn't matter where you installed the old forums, so long as you can get to the old database.

Also, coming back to the point of Portals:There are third-party scripts available to "bridge" vBulletin with popular portal and CMS software like Joomla! and Mambo, which can be found on their consecutive sites or on vbulletin.org, but there is also another third-party script known as "vBulletin Advanced CMPS" (www.vbadvanced.com) which integrates into vBulletin as a Plugin without installing any other software.

This used to be a nice place; what the hell's gone wrong?
