Not necessarily. I run Apache, PHP and MySQL the moment my computer is turned on. Even if you knew my IP Address, you wouldn't be able to access my webserver.

Why do you have use these directives if your PC use localhost, from where it is accessible if you aren't opena a proxy server or linking a static ip address accessed from remote.
I've installed on my own pc and using localhost without protect nothing, only me access on my own pc and isn't accessible from remote, no problem...install it dude.

If it is NOT named in a testvb directory, your customer account gets tagged with "Possible Duplicate Use" piracy warning when you open tickets with us. We'd then have to manually verify each of the instances that is running your licensed files. It also becomes very problematic and troublesom for all of us if you don't have them properly password protected.

So, as a rule of thumb, please be sure to put it in a testvb folder and password protect it to prevent any possible problems

Nahhh, isn't the case if you don't have remote access, how do you verify each of the instances on a 127.0.0.1 IP? This is possible only on your machine because it using that IP (localhost)
It is possible just to send a Trackback during the installation when you insert the Customer Number that is possible by process to send the ip, but I don't see firewall alert about that.

My cousin has a test board installed on his computer for testing and the firewall did go "ding" when the call-home feature tried to go through as it shot up a pop-up dialogue box. It would've never made it "home" as the computer was off the web at the time. When the test board was on a real webserver for a short time, it was in a directory called "testandtorturevb."
