If your account is activated you can post in the Pre-sales forum at vbulletin.org - even without a license. I just verified this.

What I should say is that it let me register, but it wouldn't let me do any posting, creating a thread etc. (even in the pre-sales section) without a license. So I was looking here.

Here is the "unlicensed users" page it took me to this page when I tried to create a new thread in the pre-sales section:

You are currently showing up as unlicensed. To download modifications and/or participate in our community. You will need to prove that you have a valid vBulletin license. To do this, go to vBulletin.com Member Support. Upon entering the support area, enter and/or verify your "Contact Email Address". For further information, please read our "Showing Up As Unlicensed?".
To protect our customers privacy you will need to Opt-In license validation for all Support Sites. You need to authorise vBulletin.org from the vBulletin.com Members' Area in order to validate your license status. You can do this at Priority Forum Support. Make sure to set the permission to allow vBulletin.org to validate your status.

You don't have to have a license to register on vbullletin.org and post in the Pre-sales forum there.

It wouldn't let me register with vBulletin.org unless I have a vBulletin license, which I don't right now.

And I'm unsure about the specifics for what I'd like to do.

sounds like you are trying to make it so whenever you make a new post, it creates a new forum. you could try looking at vbulletin.org , and see if they have a mod (pretty sure they do).

    Will vBulletin fit my needs?

Hello everyone, this is my first post,

I recently decided to add forums to my Wordpress blog and was wondering if it was possible to somehow style it after my wordpress structure?

For example on my site, I have categories such as advice and humor, and posts within them. What I would like to have in my forums is a similar hierarchy, with my wordpress categories being different boards, and my wordpress posts being threads, where members can discuss what I wrote (and probably disabling blog comments in the process).

I don’t want to duplicate the content from my blog into my first post, I would prefer the first post to say something like “Discuss this post here” or something.

I currently had another version of forums installed, however they weren’t meeting my standards, and I’m not a programming, PHP expert.

I also have registered users with my blog, and could they integrate registry with my forums, so they wouldn't have to register twice. In other words, are these user integrations very flexible?

Also, is there some sort of program or plugin that could automate this process, where every time I make a blog post, a new thread would be created in the appropriate board? (I already have about 40 posts on my site, which I would like threads for, in addition to new ones.) Where is the link (if this type of programming exists)?

    Hope this is being clear
    Thanks
