  • vBulletin vs. phpbb

I did a little tinkering some time ago trying to get phpbb integrated into my website. My site is a private site where uses login using my security sheme. I felt with phpbb that I was trying to "integrate my site into phpbb" instead of "integrating phpbb into my site".

Can anyone relate to this? For instance, I want to continue to retain the security ids and passwords on my database instead of the forum database. With vBulletin is this possible? This seemed difficult to do in phpbb. Can anyone provide first hand reference that vBulletin is much simpler to integrate than phpbb?

    Thanks,
    Mark.

What are you talking about? A members area? A site where you have to login to view? Both can be done with a nifty mod from Bill. Here's the link but you can't download, hopefully yet.

vBulletin is exactly the same. You must integrate your website with vBulletin rather than the other way around.
