VB vs. PHPBBv3

Do you have a document or FAQ that compares VB to PHPBBv3 (or even v2)?

I don't think so... First of all, wait for a stable release of phpbb3, then they might release a documentation...!! But, I don't think they are gonna release a documentation for comparing them and someone else...!!!!!

There is no comparison between the two.

vBulletin is a premium community software and comes at a premium price.
vBulletin releases new updates several times a year and I expect version 4.0 to come around before the end of this year. Hopefully with a much needed revision in terms of the default skin and profile system.


PhpBB is a "Hobbyist" community software and thus is free and has fewer built-in features. Development of PhpBB is also very slow when compared to the top two Premium Community software companies. It took PhpBB over four years to release PhpBB 3 in a non gold edition.

I would only use phpBB, if you do not want to pay anything. But if you do want to spend the extra money to get a better software, than you should do it. Plus, vBulletin does tend to have more active communities compared to phpBB. People respect vBulletin.

yeah. I use phpbb once before, but after discovering about vb, I decided to buy it.
