Do I need my own server?

I have a website that gets a respectable amount of traffic. If I want to switch over to the vBulletin format, do I need my own server?

You must have a server to run vBulletin, you can get hosting through companies, etc... it's quite general, but I don't believe Jelsoft actually hosts it for you.

P.S. it's great software, hope to see you aboard

You don't need your own server. LITERALLY... As said above, there are many companies out there. Just find a good host and request one of the support staff to help you import your current forum to vbulletin using the ImpEx thingy..

As mentioned, you don't actually need a dedicated server; but you will need a hosting solution. Please note that we cannot offer official recommendations due to liability and other reasons, but you can check our hosting discussion forums here: http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=11 and get community feedbacks on hosting providers.
        Best Regards,
