    vB Blog availability?

I know, I know, patience, get a life, it'll be out when it's out, it's worth the wait, and all that. But I have to choose a platform for a business. It's important. Can anyone simply tell me if they think (your opinion) the blogs look like they will appear late this year, early next year or late next year. Surely people can provide their best guesses.

Not hammering VB, just need to get some sort of idea, other than complete silence. One month, one quarter, one year, two years? If I heard 3-6 months, I'd most likely wait, if Iheard 12-18 months, I'd know I could move on.

I doubt it's take more than a couple more months. Every time Jelsoft announced an update it isn't too far from when we actually get it in our hands.

The beta testers are currently testing the blog right now, so it is in active testing and being distributed and installed on the tester's forum. I don't know if that has any meaning to you though.
Congratulations on the death of vBulletin, Internet Brands.

Yes but with the social networking side to it. It could be a couple more weeks until SN is tested and bug fixed etc (thats when the blog part is sorted).

Unlike it will take more than 6 months. The blog is ready, just needs testing, as for the social networking part I don't have a clue, but it's unlikely it takes 6 months to develop.

Yep, we're still waiting for that to be in our downloads.

I don't think it'd be too much longer before it seems the light of day I hope.

I have to say though, I don't understand why vBulletin can't shed more light on the "SN" side of things though. I mean, if your saying it's in BETA testing by the staff now. I would image the devolpment side of things is done then, and it's just a case of it being tested for bugs etc.

So why can't they now say what SN features are added as an announcement or something?

Maybe they plan to change things or improve things drastically, who knows .

So, what does the release of vbadvanced Dynamics mean? I know I'm one who has been patiently waiting, and would commit to Dynamics except for wondering what VB's own blog will be like!

It seems that it's similar to what IP.Dynamic would be, which is a CMS. I really don't think vBa's Dynamics is a content management system than just a blog.

More importantly, vBadvanced is NOT an official vBulletin product, nor supported.

The blog will be out when it's ready, and we're beta testing it now. I am not aware of any release dates, so I can't share them with you. On a personal level I am convinced it will be available in 2007, and hopefully not too long from now.

I'm not quite sure what to make of "vBa Dynamics" myself

I had a good look at the demo area, and the 3 examples given. But I was left feeling unsure as to what it's supposed to be exactly. I don't think the idea has worked to well myself.

After looking at it, I just thought it looked more like a complicated version of vBadvanced and nothing like a Blog at all to me. I think he should have stayed with the Blog only idea he had at first, when he was going to call it "Blogetins" or something like that. Rather than trying to create a multiple product in one that just looks like vBa really with more bells and whistles.

I've also noticed there has not been that much interest also in his new product in that announcement over there. I guess everybody is holding back for the Blog release here. I bet he was expecting more interest than he's had. And it just goes to show that it doesn't matter how many features a rival vBulletin 3rd mod has. People want an official product with full support behind it from the vBulletin Techs.

If I was Brian, I wouldn't offer vBadvanced for free anymore, and I've posted that over there. I'd make it a "paid product" if vBa Dynamics doesn't sell anything like he wants it too. Otherwise people are just going to look at the new product as being a more advanced version of vBadvanced, but at a price. When they can use vBa for free.
