  • I got questions

    Hi

Some questions for the developers of vBulletin.

I got into the Demo control Panel but can't see any templates. Waht I am looking for is colors and designs. Templates that include dark red, blue and black mainly. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Also, I want my future users of vBulletin to be able to read and post topics WITHOUT registring, at least during the first year - possible?

Can I contact support with questions once I have become a paid customer of vBulleting or do I have ask all my questions in here. Some questions may be sensitive and I don't want just anyone read my quiries and replies....

    Thanks

vBulletin only comes with one Style by default. Templates are what we call the building blocks of individual pages. To see complete styles in different colors visit the Style section at www.vbulletin.org or do a search for vBulletin Styles in your favorite search engine.

Once you are a customer, you can contact support with questions via the Member's Area and you can ask questions here and at vBulletin.org.

Yes, you can allow non-register users to post - although that would be opening yourself up to tons of spam.

Change CKEditor Colors to Match Style (for 4.1.4 and above)

you can show and allow post to guest, if that is what you are asking.

vBulletin has usergroup settings that can control all the groups
          -- Web Developer for hire
          ---Online Marketing Tools and Articles

Allowing guests to post will open you up to spam. That's what spammers do and the easier you make it for them, the more they will take advantage of it. Not sure how to explain it any clearer than that.

You can set it up so guests can read posts, but can't reply to posts.

You can set it so guests can post, but require image verification to make it harder for bots. Of course, as steve said, it will still make it a step easier for them to spam.

You'll be VERY lucky if the spammers only post those "commercial ads". They will stop at nothing to post porno materials, pharmaceuticals, illegal software, spywares, trojans and virus in your forum or link to those malicious codes.

You'll very suprised to find out that there are so many low-life out there.
