  • Viewing multiple calendars?

Currently evaluating the platform. One thing we would like to do is have multiple calendars moderated by different people, but have the users be able to view the multiple calendars collapsed into a single view. So far all the calendar views I have been able to find in vBulletin or in vBa CMPS are single calendar views. Is this doable?

    Hello,

Thank you for your interest in the vBulletin Forum Software and for contacting vBulletin Sales.

Yes, it is possible to have multiple calendars, and base their viewing permissions on usergroups. But no, it is not possible to have all calendars display in one overview. It is however possible to switch between them via a dropdown select box.

Yah, this is a philosophy I've noticed in board software. There is lots of capability to do hierarchical decomposition (sub-forums, multiple calendars), but no way to eliminate that view; for forums it would be nice to have a forum view that merges all the subforums and provides a Threads display. The nearest thing is the vBa CMPS Recent Threads display, but that has a different set of limitations than the conventional forum Threads display (it limits to a fixed time window, a fixed number of threads maximum, it doesn't paginate, ...) The analogous thing for calendars would be to have multiple subcalendars for maintenance and updating purposes, but let users multiple select for the view.
