  • U/P functionality

Our client wants to use this software as part of their extranet. We'd like to snync the user accounts login information with the login to the main extanet. Can this be done and can we pass the u/p to vbulletin so that they are automatically logged in? We don't want to depend on cookies as they are restricted for each company.

Integrating vBulletin with a non-vB member system would require a rather extensive modification of the code. Of course, we cannot provide official support for code modifications. What most people do is modify their current system to use the vB member system.

Either way the place for help with this would be over at the mod site: http://www.vbulletin.org

Once you register you can post in the Pre-Sales forum there.

vBulletin can only work with cookies and sessions (temporary cookies). It cannot work with GET or POST methods of user/password.

If your extranet uses LDAP, there is a plugin available at vBulletin.org that will allow integration.
