  • Can you put two Databases together?

Umm I have a general question, say you wanted to intergeate two forum databses into one> (ie, your competiton joins into one forum)

    Could this be done?

Yes, you can use Impex to import data from one forum to another. Please read the online Impex import instructions here:

So say my site, with all its members and shizz then my competitor using phpBB joined up, I could take their posts/members and add them to my DB to make one bigger forum.

I couldnt see them from the IMPEX manual.

      Cheers Steve.

ImpEx imports users, posts, and forums.
phpBB is a supported ImpEx import (probably the most commonly used one!).

What you are requesting is certainly possible although not specifically documented in the manual.

When you import, you'll be presented with options to handle overlapping user accounts, usergroups, and of course the flexibility of vBulletin to move forums, threads, and posts around as needed.
