if you buy both together, you get the discount, one after the other, full price then discount.

This is an old topic but I guess it still stands.
I have 1 license now, and I am wondering whether to buy 2.
    So would I pay $160 (#2) & $148 (#3) = $308 or would I pay $148 (#2) & $148 (#3) = $196.

Now that I've done the maths, it's not much of a saving either way

Yes. You can upgrade from a leased to an owned license for an additional $85 if you do so within 60 days of the purchase. After 60 days, it is full price ($160.)

If you buy a single license then the prices are:

    - 1 year Leased License: $85
    - Owned license (unlimited time of usage): $160

The price per license will go down if you order 3 or more licenses.
