    Weird attachment limit

I'm running the vBulletin demo - I uploaded 5 pictures to an image host using "ShellUploader" - I copied the text and pasted it into the message body, and got this:

You have included 5 images in your message. You are limited to using 4 images so please go back and correct the problem and then continue again.

    !!!????

They're *externally* hosted images so why does it not let me post as many as I want??? I've looked in the admin control panel but can't figure out where the settings are for this.

I can see being able to limit attachments that are stored on the local server, but counting images that exist only as message code is very annoying. (??)

Update: I may have found it....

Apparently, vBulletin considers externally hosted files as attachments.

I'm gonig to change it in vBulletin Options / Attachment Options /
    Attachments Per Post

    ..and see if that works

    NOPE. still getting this:
    1. You have included 6 images in your message. You are limited to using 4 images so please go back and correct the problem and then continue again.

Images include use of smilies, the vB code [img] tag and HTML <img> tags. The use of these is all subject to them being enabled by the administrator.
Any ideas??? I want my users to be able to upload to external hosts like ImageShack, ImageVenue, PaintedOver, ec.... and NOT have them count as an attachment (because they're not!) I was always under the impression that attachments were files that were attached to the message. Extra HTML code should just be considered message text.

(I'm usually one that thinks more config options is always better...)

widgetinstance 262 (Related Topics) skipped due to lack of content & hide_module_if_empty option.
