  • Looking to do...

    Hey guys,
Im fairly new to vBulletin and I wanted to know a little more from you guys what exacly certain things do.

    1) I'm starting a community based on voting. I want to prevent people who may register twice with the same IP and restrict all or most proxies. Is there any specific way to do this? I understand theres a ban by IP, but how do I prevent registrations with the same IP, just incase they do try?

    2) I am going to have one or two types of user groups that involve the subscription feature. (Big plus by vB) I wanted to know:
    a. If I can add other payment gateways in the future.
    b. If the subscription creator is self explanitory on how to use it.
    c. Are there any known bugs with the subscription manager?

Answers would be most beneficial. ;-)

    1. There really is no way to do this, and since many people are on ISPs that reuse IPs this would not be the wisest thing to do anyway.

2a. This requires modifying the code. We cannot officially support code modifications or forums running modified code, however you can try searching or asking for help with this over at www.vbulletin.org.

2b. Here is the online documentation of the Paid Subscription feature in vB:

    http://www.vbulletin.com/docs/html/subscriptions

2c. I don't believe so but you can check here:

Make sure you look for bugs in 3.6.1 only.
