I was wondering if its posible to have the "Edited by" not ever appear when Admins edit posts, even their own, but retain this for every other member.

As Steve said, this is a Usergroup permission.
Admin CP -> Usergroups -> Usergroup Manager -> Edit Usergroup -> Show edited by note on edited messages?
Do this for Admin Usergroup and set Show edited by note on edited messages= No

You could wrap the "Edited by" part of the template in a conditional if you wanted it to apply retroactively as well.Comment
