  • Integrating 2nd VB board with existing database

    Hi,

Is it possible to use the same "user table" for 2 forums on the same server?

We've got a forum setup for a club - general chat type stuff.

We are setting up an online shop and need another seperate forum to deal with some sales, customer service type enquiries.

It would be really handy if the users on the club forum could sign into the shop forum without having to re-register.

    Thanks

That requires modifying the code (and two licenses of course). We cannot officially support code modifications or forums running modified code, however you can try searching or asking for help with this over at www.vbulletin.org.

The simple solution is to have a generic set of forums, and then two categories for sales and the chat.

Then make 2 usergroups, one for the sales and one for the chat. Then add a link in the generic forums to click which will help them join the public joinable usergroups for sales and/or chat.
