Importing from SMF

Hi,

I saw that most things from SMF can be imported into vBulletin. I run a book club forum and would like to switch over to vB and obviously don't want to disrupt current conversations too much. Anyways...how hard is it exactly to do the conversion? Is there lots of support available if I have problems doing it?

Hi Golden

Importing isn't that hard at all. I think the hardest part in the entire procedure is just waiting for Impex to finish. You just want to sit down and mess with all the settings of vBulletin top to bottom making it your own . If you can move a mouse, click, and stare at a computer screen, you are almost guarenteed able to import SMF into vBulletin.

If something goes wrong, the support staff is here to guide you and assist you. You even get the honor of bugging Jerry, the developer of Impex.

Our forum software and the impex software have been created with easy-use in mind, meaning almost no html/php knowledge is required in order to get things setup. No manual queries need to be run, etc. Everything is done with programmed .php files which you can point to in your browser; resulting in a page with module buttons to click and the import is on its way. And will tell you exactly what module is run and needs to be run.
