  • vBulletin and Multisite support

I think I'm about to make the switch. I am running 15 sites with a combined total of nearly 1,000,000 pageviews monthly ~ 15GB bandwidth, etc, etc, etc.

I am currently running PostNuke with PNphpBB2 and they're all sharing the same user information.

    1) Can I easily run multiple different sites with different forums with vBulletin? I know that I will have to have a license for each forum, that's not the issue, can it be done easily ... like in an hour by an advanced amateur?

Example: Let's just say that I wanted www.toast.com, www.bread.com, www.rolls.com and www.pizza.com to have independant content but the same user list. So if someone joined up on www.toast.com, they would automatically be able to login to www.bread.com with the same user ID/password and vice-verse.

    2) Under this multisite scenario, I would want part of the forum to be the same for all of the sites, but most of it would be different. Is this possible? If so, how easy/difficult?

    1. Easily? No. This requires modifying the code. We cannot officially support code modifications or forums running modified code, however you can try searching or asking for help with this over at www.vbulletin.org.

    2. Same as above. This requires modifying the code.
