  • Any problem converting large forums?

I run a large active phpbb forum. I currently have over 10,000 registered users and over 425,000 articles. Generally there are 50 to 100 users online at all times. And, I average over 400 posts a day.

What kind of problems would I have converting to vBulletin? Can the importer handle these kinds of volumes in a timely fashion?

Would I have to bring my board down? It seems like I would.

I was thinking of setting up a test install and import to the test install. But when I start to think about it... this seems like an impossible task overall.

Anyone have experience with this kind of conversion?

The importer will work with that size forum. You would need to close your phpBB forums during the import.

It would definitely be in your best interests to do a test import first.
