i don't understand why people have so many questions about this. You are legally requirerd to leave this alone unless you paid for the branding free option "powered by vbulletin version 3.5.3 copyright - 2006 Jelsoft enterprises Ltd" it doesn't butter me

People see the vBulletin logos and buttons and vBulletin written all over their forums and they think they have to pay to change the name to what they want. In fact, Branding Free only affects the Copyright notice.

I am proud that I am running a vBulletin forum. It suggests quality. I don't want to hide it.

You can edit the copyright but the minimum you must keep is:

"Vbulletin Copyright 2000 - 2006, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd."

Bare minimum for the copyright I believe is:

vBulletin, Copyright 2000 - 2006, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
Congratulations on the death of vBulletin, Internet Brands.

You can change the META data, like what shows up in Google, and the Site Title at the top of IE.

If I spend much more time browsing these forums, I could be subjected to: 1. Burnt retinas, 2. Angry customers, 3. Lack of moderation, 4. Arguments.
This used to be a nice place; what the hell's gone wrong?

So, to confirm what's being said (hope I got it right).

                            1.) Buy the forum (91).
2.) Change whatever you want (images, text etc.)
3.) You MUST keep "vBulletin, Copyright 2000 - 2006, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd." in the footer of the forum for legal reasons.

Everything can change except for the copywrite (which is totally understandable and acceptable). Of course, if you're new to this then you don't wanna' go editting the php files

No reason to edit the php files, but that is correct.
