    Importing from IPB

When importing from IPB, where does it get the information from? Does it look at anything besides the database?

I'm just wondering the best way to install vBulletin in the root directory over the old forum that is also in the root directory.

    Any suggestions?

During my experience with importing a friend's IPB, Impex (The vBulletin import system) basically reads the data from the database and copies the data over to the vBulletin Database.

Attachments are converted over by simply directly Impex (the Attachment Module) to convert those attachments over, assuming you are having attachments as flat files.

You can put vB in a test area, import IPB into vB, and then swap the directories out when you are ready to roll with vB.
